I say for me, the effort involved is simple and minimal because I have been able to develop a very simple but effective process to rank the local client websites. Local businesses just haven’t got a clue how to do it. Not because it is hard, but because they don’t know where to get the information that is reliable enough. Also, most business owners are full time and more running their business and don’t have time to market, but they need the security of future leads to come in, because without the leads, they have no business.

My name is Chris Cantell. I have been doing SEO for several years now. I started my SEO career doing local SEO. I started with no experience and just a bit of knowledge. I knew that I needed proof to be able to show my clients or else it would be difficult to convince them to take me on. Also, I didn’t know if I was going to be able to get customers. I did these steps exactly as I mentioned above. I chose a local business niche. I looked up a number of companies in the niche in the city I was focusing on. I phoned each one and said that I am going to rank a website for them. The site was going to rank on the first page of Google in a few weeks. I said, “would they be interested in renting the site when it is on the first page”. I contacted about 5 companies. Two companies, the owner wasn’t available. One company said they weren’t interested, and two other companies said they were interested and wanted to talk when I had ranked the site.

I then started work on the site. As I said, it was a simple site and I built it in about 4 hours. I then started doing the SEO on the site just like I have laid out on my other post “How To Get 70,000 Google Visitors A Month”. Within a few weeks, the site was ranking for the customers main phrases on the first page of Google. I contacted the first company that was interested and told them about the site. Whilst I was on the phone they checked the site and the rank. They said that they wanted to rent the site and for me to add their details. I agreed and told them the cost. They said that they would pay it. I sent over a basic contract, and the next day, I had $700 in my bank account. I retained that customer for about 2 years. I only lost that client because due to personal reasons, they were closing the business.

During the two years, I made about $40,000. The extra money came in because they asked me to build another website in another part of the city in a slightly different sector of the niche. I went on from there to build other such sites and made a lot of money. It was very easy work and as I said earlier, it was not demanding on my time or effort.
